About Reddaway
Reddaway Inc., trading as Reddaway, is an Oregon-based less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation firm headquartered in Tualatin. Yellow Corporation, formerly known as YRC Worldwide, is the parent company, managing logistics and transportation operations in the Western United States, British Columbia, Alaska, and Hawaii.
The company’s inception dates back to June 1919 when William Arthur “Art” Reddaway initiated USF Reddaway in Oregon City, Oregon, operating as Reddaway’s Truck Line, Inc. Ethel May Joslin Reddaway, his wife, served as the company’s president. Leadership transitioned to Walter Wayne “Walt” Reddaway, Art’s son, who ran the business until his retirement in 1970. Walt introduced The Reddaway System, a specialized spray protection rain flap for the trucking industry, earning a patent in 1975.
In 2011, corporate restructuring resulted in the rebranding of USF Reddaway, USF Holland, and USF Glen Moore to Reddaway, Holland, and Glen Moore, respectively. Glen Moore was subsequently sold to Celadon Trucking in the same year. In 2012, Reddaway relocated its headquarters from Oregon City to Tualatin, a suburb of Portland. Employees totaling over 3,000, facilities in 50 service locations, and a fleet of 5,000 trailers and 1,500 vehicles, including box trucks, were all part of the company’s operations in 2021. In 2021, YRC underwent a name change to Yellow Corporation with plans to unify all its trademarks by 2022.
